Electromagnetic

Electromagnetic refers to the interaction between electrically charged particles and the electromagnetic field. In space and astronautical engineering, electromagnetic fields are used for communication, navigation, and propulsion. Electromagnetic waves, such as radio waves, microwaves, and light waves, can travel through the vacuum of space and are used for communication between spacecraft and ground stations. Electromagnetic propulsion systems, such as ion thrusters and plasma engines, use electromagnetic fields to accelerate charged particles and generate thrust. Electromagnetic navigation systems, such as star trackers and magnetometers, use the Earth's magnetic field and the positions of stars to determine the orientation and location of spacecraft. Electromagnetic interference can also be a concern in space engineering, as it can disrupt communication and navigation systems.
