Sidebands

In the context of space and astronautical engineering, sidebands refer to the spectral components that are produced when a carrier signal is modulated by a modulating signal. In other words, sidebands are the frequencies that are created when a signal is shifted from its original frequency. Sidebands are important in communication systems, as they can carry information that is transmitted over a radio frequency. The presence of sidebands can also affect the performance of a communication system, as they can cause interference and reduce the signal-to-noise ratio. Therefore, engineers must carefully design communication systems to minimize the impact of sidebands.
