Interference
Interference is a phenomenon that occurs when two or more waves meet at the same point in space and time, resulting in a modification of the amplitude, phase, or polarization of the waves. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, interference can occur in various forms, such as radio frequency interference (RFI) or electromagnetic interference (EMI), which can disrupt or degrade the performance of spacecraft communication systems. Interference can also occur in the form of optical interference, which can affect the performance of optical instruments used in space missions. To mitigate interference, engineers use various techniques such as shielding, filtering, and frequency planning.
