Electrically Charged Particles

Electrically charged particles are particles that carry an electric charge, either positive or negative. In space and astronautical engineering, electrically charged particles are of great importance due to their interaction with spacecraft and their potential to cause damage to electronic equipment. These particles can be found in the solar wind, cosmic rays, and radiation belts surrounding planets. The study of electrically charged particles in space is known as plasma physics, and it is essential for understanding the behavior of plasmas in space. Spacecraft are equipped with instruments to measure the flux and energy of these particles, and to protect against their damaging effects.
