Rocket Propulsion Systems

Rocket Propulsion Systems are the technologies used to propel a rocket into space. These systems use the principle of action and reaction, where the rocket expels mass in one direction, causing a force in the opposite direction that propels the rocket forward. There are two main types of rocket propulsion systems: chemical and electric. Chemical propulsion systems use a chemical reaction to produce thrust, while electric propulsion systems use electrical energy to accelerate propellant particles. Chemical propulsion systems are further divided into solid and liquid rocket engines. Solid rocket engines use a solid fuel and oxidizer mixture, while liquid rocket engines use liquid fuel and oxidizer that are pumped into a combustion chamber. Rocket propulsion systems are critical to space exploration and have enabled humans to travel beyond Earth's atmosphere and explore the cosmos.
