Propulsion Systems

Propulsion systems refer to the mechanisms that generate the necessary force to move a spacecraft or a satellite in space. These systems are designed to overcome the gravitational pull of the Earth and provide the necessary thrust to achieve and maintain the desired orbit. Propulsion systems can be classified into two main categories: chemical and electric. Chemical propulsion systems use chemical reactions to generate thrust, while electric propulsion systems use electrical energy to accelerate propellant particles. Chemical propulsion systems are commonly used for launch vehicles and spacecraft that require high thrust, while electric propulsion systems are used for long-duration missions that require low thrust but high efficiency. Propulsion systems are critical components of any space mission and their design and performance directly impact the success of the mission.
