Liquid Rocket Engines
Liquid rocket engines are propulsion systems that use liquid propellants to generate thrust. These engines work by mixing a fuel and an oxidizer in a combustion chamber, which ignites and produces hot gases that are expelled through a nozzle to create thrust. Liquid rocket engines are commonly used in spacecraft and launch vehicles due to their high specific impulse and thrust-to-weight ratio. They can be throttled and shut down, allowing for greater control during flight. However, they are more complex and expensive to manufacture and operate than solid rocket engines. Liquid rocket engines can use a variety of propellants, including liquid hydrogen, liquid oxygen, kerosene, and hypergolic fuels.
