Pitch

Pitch is the angle between a spacecraft's longitudinal axis and the local horizontal plane. It is an important parameter in spacecraft attitude control and determines the orientation of the spacecraft with respect to the local horizon. Pitch is one of the three Euler angles that describe the orientation of a spacecraft in three-dimensional space, the other two being roll and yaw. Pitch control is critical during launch and re-entry, as well as during orbital maneuvers and docking operations. Pitch adjustments are made using thrusters or reaction wheels, and are guided by sensors such as gyroscopes and accelerometers. Maintaining a stable pitch is essential for the success of a mission, as it ensures that the spacecraft is pointed in the right direction and is able to perform its intended tasks.
