Thrusters

Thrusters are devices used to provide spacecraft with the necessary force to change its velocity or direction in space. They are essential for attitude control, station-keeping, and trajectory correction maneuvers. Thrusters can be classified into two main categories: chemical and electric. Chemical thrusters use a chemical reaction to produce a high-velocity exhaust stream, while electric thrusters use electrical energy to ionize a propellant and accelerate the resulting ions to produce thrust. The choice of thruster depends on the mission requirements, such as the required thrust level, specific impulse, and lifetime. Thrusters are critical components of any spacecraft, and their performance and reliability are crucial for mission success.
