Electric Thrusters
Electric thrusters are propulsion systems that use electrical energy to accelerate propellant to generate thrust. They are commonly used in spacecraft for attitude control, orbit raising, and station-keeping. Electric thrusters are more efficient than chemical thrusters, which use chemical reactions to generate thrust. They have a higher specific impulse, which means they can produce more thrust per unit of propellant. However, electric thrusters have a lower thrust-to-weight ratio, which limits their use for launch vehicles. There are several types of electric thrusters, including ion thrusters, Hall effect thrusters, and pulsed plasma thrusters.
