Filtering Systems

Filtering systems in space and astronautical engineering refer to the various mechanisms and technologies used to remove unwanted particles, gases, and other contaminants from the air, water, and other materials in spacecraft and space habitats. These systems are critical for maintaining a safe and habitable environment for astronauts and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and experiments. Filtering systems can include physical filters, such as screens and membranes, as well as chemical processes, such as adsorption and catalysis. They may also incorporate technologies such as ultraviolet radiation and electrostatic precipitation. The design and implementation of filtering systems must take into account factors such as the size and composition of the particles or contaminants to be removed, the flow rate and pressure of the materials being filtered, and the energy and resource constraints of the spacecraft or habitat.
