Astronauts

Astronauts are individuals who are trained to operate, pilot, or serve as a crew member of a spacecraft. They are responsible for carrying out scientific experiments, maintaining the spacecraft, and ensuring the safety of themselves and their fellow crew members. Astronauts undergo rigorous physical and mental training to prepare for the challenges of spaceflight, including microgravity, radiation exposure, and isolation. They must also be able to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with mission control on Earth. Astronauts may be selected by government space agencies or private companies for missions ranging from short-term trips to the International Space Station to long-duration missions to the Moon or Mars.
