Digital Filter
In space and astronautical engineering, a digital filter is a signal processing algorithm that operates on digital signals to remove unwanted components or enhance desired components. It is used to process data from various sensors and instruments on spacecraft and satellites, such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, and cameras. Digital filters can be designed to perform a variety of functions, such as noise reduction, signal smoothing, signal separation, and signal enhancement. They can be implemented using various techniques, such as finite impulse response (FIR) filters, infinite impulse response (IIR) filters, and adaptive filters. Digital filters are essential for many space missions, as they help to improve the accuracy and reliability of data collected from space-based instruments.
