Noise

In space and astronautical engineering, noise refers to any unwanted or disruptive sound that can interfere with the functioning of equipment or the health and safety of astronauts. Noise can come from a variety of sources, including engines, pumps, fans, and other machinery, as well as from external factors such as micrometeoroid impacts or solar wind. Excessive noise can cause hearing damage, interfere with communication, and disrupt sleep and cognitive function. Engineers and scientists work to minimize noise through the use of sound-absorbing materials, vibration isolation, and other techniques. Noise levels are carefully monitored on spacecraft and in space habitats to ensure the health and safety of crew members and the proper functioning of equipment.
