Infinite Impulse Response

Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) is a type of digital filter used in space and astronautical engineering to process signals. It is characterized by having feedback in its transfer function, which allows it to have an infinite impulse response. IIR filters are commonly used in spacecraft communication systems, where they are used to remove noise and interference from signals. They are also used in attitude control systems, where they help to stabilize the spacecraft by filtering out unwanted vibrations and disturbances. IIR filters are preferred over other types of filters in space applications because they are computationally efficient and require less memory. However, they are also more sensitive to quantization errors and can be unstable if not designed properly.
