Finite Impulse Response

Finite Impulse Response (FIR) is a type of digital filter used in signal processing that has a finite duration impulse response. FIR filters are characterized by their linear phase response, which makes them useful in applications where phase distortion must be minimized. FIR filters are widely used in space and astronautical engineering for a variety of applications, including signal processing for communication systems, control systems, and navigation systems. FIR filters are also used in image processing applications, such as image enhancement and image restoration.
