Signal Processing

Signal processing is the analysis, modification, and synthesis of signals, which are any time-varying physical quantities. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, signal processing is used to extract information from signals received from spacecraft, satellites, and other space-based instruments. This includes the processing of telemetry data, images, and other forms of data transmission. Signal processing techniques are also used in the design and development of communication systems for space missions, including modulation and coding schemes, error correction, and signal detection and estimation. Additionally, signal processing is used in the analysis of remote sensing data, such as radar and lidar, to extract information about the surface and atmosphere of planets and other celestial bodies.
