Spacecraft Subsystems

Spacecraft subsystems are the individual components or systems that make up a spacecraft and are designed to perform specific functions necessary for the success of a mission. These subsystems include but are not limited to: power, propulsion, thermal control, communication, attitude control, guidance and navigation, and payload. The power subsystem provides the necessary electrical power to operate the spacecraft and its subsystems. The propulsion subsystem is responsible for the spacecraft's movement and trajectory adjustments. The thermal control subsystem regulates the temperature of the spacecraft and its components. The communication subsystem enables the spacecraft to transmit and receive data and commands. The attitude control subsystem maintains the spacecraft's orientation and stability. The guidance and navigation subsystem determines the spacecraft's position and velocity. The payload subsystem carries the instruments and equipment necessary to achieve the mission objectives.
