Maxwell's Equations

In the context of aerospace engineering, Maxwell's Equations are a set of four differential equations that describe how electric and magnetic fields interact. They were formulated by James Clerk Maxwell in the 19th century. These equations are fundamental to the design and analysis of all systems that involve electromagnetic fields, which includes many aspects of aerospace engineering. For instance, they are used in the design of antennas for communication satellites, in the analysis of radar systems, and in the study of the effects of space weather on spacecraft. The equations are also used in the design of electric propulsion systems, which use electric fields to accelerate ions and generate thrust. Furthermore, Maxwell's Equations are used in the study of the electromagnetic properties of the Earth's and other planets' atmospheres, which is important for the design of spacecraft reentry systems and for the interpretation of remote sensing data.
