Magnetic Nozzle
A magnetic nozzle is a type of rocket nozzle that uses a magnetic field to ionize and accelerate propellant, typically a noble gas such as xenon, to generate thrust. The magnetic field is created by a set of electromagnets that surround the nozzle and ionize the propellant by stripping electrons from its atoms. The resulting plasma is then accelerated by the magnetic field and expelled out of the nozzle to produce thrust. Magnetic nozzles are commonly used in electric propulsion systems for spacecraft, where their high exhaust velocities and low propellant consumption make them ideal for long-duration missions. They are also used in some experimental rocket engines, where their high efficiency and low weight make them attractive for high-performance applications.
