Weight

In space and astronautical engineering, weight refers to the force exerted on an object due to gravity. Weight is directly proportional to an object's mass and the acceleration due to gravity. In space, where there is no gravity, weightlessness occurs. However, objects still have mass and therefore still have weight, but they are in a state of freefall, which gives the illusion of weightlessness. Weight is an important factor in spacecraft design, as it affects the amount of fuel required to launch and maneuver the spacecraft. Engineers must carefully consider the weight of all components and materials used in the spacecraft to ensure that it is within the weight limits of the launch vehicle and can perform its intended mission.
