Gravitational Field

Gravitational field is a region in space where a mass experiences a force due to the presence of another mass. The force experienced by a mass in a gravitational field is proportional to the product of the masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. In astronautical engineering, the gravitational field is an important factor in spacecraft trajectory planning and orbit determination. The gravitational field of celestial bodies such as planets, moons, and asteroids affects the motion of spacecraft and must be taken into account when planning missions. The study of gravitational fields also plays a crucial role in the design and operation of gravitational wave detectors, which are used to detect and study gravitational waves produced by cosmic events such as black hole mergers.
