Asteroids

Asteroids are small, rocky objects that orbit the sun. They are also known as minor planets or planetoids. Most asteroids are found in the asteroid belt, a region between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. However, some asteroids have orbits that take them closer to Earth. Asteroids can range in size from a few meters to several hundred kilometers in diameter. They are believed to be remnants from the early solar system, and studying them can provide insight into the formation and evolution of the planets. Asteroids can also pose a potential threat to Earth if they collide with our planet, and efforts are underway to study and track potentially hazardous asteroids.
