CRC Codes

CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) codes are a type of error-detecting code used in digital communication systems to detect accidental changes to raw data. The CRC code is generated by performing a mathematical calculation on the data, which produces a fixed-length sequence of bits that is appended to the original data. When the data is received, the same calculation is performed on the received data and the resulting CRC code is compared to the one that was sent. If the two codes match, it is assumed that the data was transmitted without errors. If they do not match, it is assumed that the data was corrupted during transmission and needs to be retransmitted.
