Deorbit

Deorbit is the process of bringing a spacecraft or satellite out of orbit and back to Earth. This is typically done at the end of a mission when the spacecraft is no longer needed or has run out of fuel. Deorbiting can be achieved through a variety of methods, including firing thrusters to slow the spacecraft down and allow it to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere, or using a specialized deorbit device such as a solid rocket motor or an inflatable heat shield. Once the spacecraft has entered the Earth's atmosphere, it will experience intense heat and friction due to the air resistance, which can cause it to burn up or break apart. Deorbiting is an important aspect of space mission planning, as it helps to prevent space debris from accumulating in orbit and posing a hazard to other spacecraft.
