Centigrade

Centigrade is a unit of temperature measurement in the International System of Units (SI). It is defined as the temperature at which water freezes at 0 degrees and boils at 100 degrees at standard atmospheric pressure. In space and astronautical engineering, Centigrade is commonly used to measure the temperature of spacecraft components, such as engines, electronics, and thermal control systems. Accurate temperature measurement is critical for the proper functioning and safety of spacecraft, as extreme temperatures can cause equipment failure or damage. Engineers use various sensors and instruments to measure temperature, such as thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), and infrared cameras. They also design thermal control systems to regulate the temperature of spacecraft components and maintain them within safe operating limits.
