Microfabrication

Microfabrication is the process of fabricating miniature structures and devices with micrometer-scale features. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, microfabrication is used to create microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and other miniaturized components for spacecraft and satellites. These components can include sensors, actuators, and communication devices. Microfabrication techniques such as photolithography, etching, and deposition are used to create these structures on a variety of substrates, including silicon, glass, and polymers. The use of microfabrication in space technology has enabled the development of smaller and more efficient spacecraft, as well as improved communication and sensing capabilities.
