Allogeneic Transplant

Allogeneic transplant is a medical procedure in which stem cells or bone marrow from a donor, usually a close relative, are transplanted into a patient with a disease that affects the blood cells. The donor cells replace the patient's damaged or diseased cells and create new, healthy blood cells. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, allogeneic transplant may be necessary for astronauts who experience radiation exposure or other health issues while in space. The procedure would involve transporting stem cells or bone marrow from Earth to the space station or spacecraft, and then performing the transplant in a sterile environment. This would require specialized equipment and medical expertise to ensure the success of the procedure.
