Procedure
In space and astronautical engineering, a procedure refers to a set of instructions or steps that are followed to accomplish a specific task or objective. Procedures are critical in space missions as they ensure that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently. They are developed based on extensive testing and simulations to ensure that they are reliable and effective. Procedures cover a wide range of activities, including launch, orbit insertion, rendezvous and docking, spacewalks, and re-entry. They are typically documented in detail and communicated to all members of the mission team to ensure that everyone is aware of their roles and responsibilities. Procedures are also regularly reviewed and updated to incorporate new technologies and lessons learned from previous missions.
