Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying

Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (DQPSK) is a digital modulation scheme used in satellite and deep space communications. It is a form of Phase Shift Keying (PSK) where the phase of the carrier signal is shifted by a multiple of 90 degrees. DQPSK is a differential encoding scheme, which means that the phase of the carrier signal is not absolute, but rather changes relative to the previous symbol. This allows for more efficient use of bandwidth and reduces the effects of phase noise and distortion. DQPSK is commonly used in applications where the signal-to-noise ratio is low, such as in deep space communications, where the signal is weak by the time it reaches Earth. It is also used in satellite communications, where the signal may be subject to interference from other sources.
