Space Suit Heating
Space Suit Heating is the process of providing warmth to an astronaut's body while performing extravehicular activities (EVAs) in the vacuum of space. The space suit heating system is designed to maintain a comfortable temperature inside the suit and prevent the astronaut from hypothermia. The heating system consists of a liquid cooling and ventilation garment (LCVG) that circulates water through a network of tubes, a heat-rejecting unit (HRU) that removes excess heat from the water, and a temperature control valve that regulates the flow of water. The heating system is powered by a battery pack that is integrated into the space suit. The temperature inside the space suit can be adjusted by the astronaut using a control panel located on the chest of the suit.
