Extravehicular Activities
Extravehicular activities (EVAs) are operations performed by an astronaut outside a spacecraft beyond the Earth's atmosphere. EVAs are performed to carry out tasks such as repairing or maintaining spacecraft, conducting scientific experiments, and testing new equipment. EVAs are also performed during spacewalks, which are used to train astronauts for emergency situations. During an EVA, the astronaut wears a spacesuit that provides oxygen, temperature control, and protection from radiation. The spacesuit also has a communication system that allows the astronaut to communicate with the spacecraft and ground control. EVAs are complex and dangerous operations that require extensive training and preparation.
