Astronaut
An astronaut is a person who is trained to travel in a spacecraft and perform various tasks during a mission. Astronauts undergo rigorous physical and mental training to prepare for the challenges of spaceflight, including weightlessness, radiation exposure, and isolation. They are responsible for operating spacecraft systems, conducting scientific experiments, and performing spacewalks to maintain and repair equipment. Astronauts work closely with ground control teams to ensure the success of their missions and to troubleshoot any issues that may arise. They must also be able to work effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. The term astronaut is typically used by NASA and other space agencies in the United States, while other countries may use different terms such as cosmonaut or taikonaut.
