Uranium

Uranium is a naturally occurring element that is used as a fuel in nuclear reactors. In space and astronautical engineering, uranium is used as a power source for spacecraft and satellites. Uranium is a highly dense metal that can produce a large amount of energy through nuclear fission. This energy is used to power the spacecraft and its instruments. Uranium is also used in the production of plutonium-238, which is used as a power source for deep space missions. However, the use of uranium in space also poses risks due to the potential for radioactive contamination in the event of a launch failure or spacecraft malfunction.
