Ultracapacitors

Ultracapacitors, also known as supercapacitors or electrochemical capacitors, are energy storage devices that store and release energy through the movement of ions between two electrodes. Unlike batteries, ultracapacitors can charge and discharge rapidly, making them ideal for applications that require high power bursts. They also have a longer lifespan than batteries and can withstand a greater number of charge and discharge cycles. Ultracapacitors have a wide range of applications in the space and astronautical engineering field, including as backup power systems for satellites, power sources for electric propulsion systems, and energy storage for regenerative braking systems on spacecraft. They are also used in space suits to power communication systems and other equipment.
