Electric Propulsion

Electric Propulsion is a technology that uses electrical energy to propel spacecraft. It works by accelerating electrically charged particles, such as ions or electrons, and expelling them out of the spacecraft at high speeds, generating thrust. Electric Propulsion systems are more efficient than traditional chemical rockets, as they can achieve higher speeds with less fuel. However, they provide lower thrust, which makes them unsuitable for launch and initial orbit insertion. Electric Propulsion is commonly used for station-keeping, orbit raising, and interplanetary missions. There are several types of Electric Propulsion systems, including Electrostatic Thrusters, Electromagnetic Thrusters, and Electrothermal Thrusters.
