Turbopumps

Turbopumps are high-speed pumps that are used to feed propellants under pressure into the combustion chamber of a rocket engine. They are typically driven by a gas turbine, which is powered by the same propellants that the pump is feeding. Turbopumps are essential components of liquid rocket engines, as they provide the high pressure and flow rates required for efficient combustion. They are complex machines that require precise engineering and manufacturing, as they operate at extremely high speeds and temperatures. Turbopumps are typically made of high-strength materials such as titanium and are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of spaceflight.
