Semiconductor Substrate

A semiconductor substrate is a material on which a semiconductor device is fabricated. It provides a foundation for the device and is typically made of silicon, although other materials such as gallium arsenide may also be used. The substrate is usually a single crystal, which allows for the formation of a high-quality crystal lattice structure that is necessary for the proper functioning of the device. The substrate is also doped with impurities to create regions of different electrical conductivity, which are used to form the various components of the device, such as transistors and diodes. The substrate is an essential component of semiconductor manufacturing, and its properties have a significant impact on the performance of the final device.
