Scale Model

In space and astronautical engineering, a scale model is a physical replica of a spacecraft or a component of a spacecraft that is built to a smaller scale than the original. Scale models are used to test and validate the design of spacecraft before they are built and launched into space. They are also used to train astronauts and ground crew on the operation and maintenance of spacecraft. Scale models can be built using a variety of materials, including plastic, metal, and composite materials. They can range in size from small handheld models to large models that are several meters in length. Scale models are an important tool in the development and testing of spacecraft, as they allow engineers to identify and correct design flaws before the spacecraft is built and launched into space.
