Rechargeable Battery
A rechargeable battery is a type of electrical battery that can be charged, discharged into a load, and recharged many times, as opposed to a disposable or primary battery, which is supplied fully charged and discarded after use. Rechargeable batteries are used extensively in space and astronautical engineering applications, where they provide a reliable and long-lasting source of power for spacecraft, satellites, and other equipment. They are also used in space suits and other astronaut gear, as well as in portable electronic devices used by astronauts during spacewalks and other activities. Rechargeable batteries come in a variety of chemistries, including nickel-cadmium (NiCd), nickel-metal hydride (NiMH), and lithium-ion (Li-ion), each with its own advantages and disadvantages in terms of energy density, weight, and cost.
