Receiver Sensitivity

Receiver sensitivity is the minimum input signal power required by a receiver to achieve a specified level of performance. In space and astronautical engineering, receiver sensitivity is a critical parameter for communication systems. It determines the ability of a receiver to detect weak signals in the presence of noise and interference. The sensitivity of a receiver is affected by various factors such as the receiver bandwidth, noise figure, and the type of modulation used. A high sensitivity receiver is desirable for space missions as it allows for reliable communication over long distances and in harsh environments.
