Photovoltaic Cell

A photovoltaic cell, also known as a solar cell, is a device that converts light energy into electrical energy using the photovoltaic effect. When light strikes the cell, it excites the electrons in the cell's semiconductor material, causing them to flow and generate an electric current. The efficiency of a photovoltaic cell depends on the type of semiconductor material used, the amount of light absorbed, and the cell's design. Photovoltaic cells are commonly used in spacecraft and satellites to power electrical systems and instruments. They are also used in solar panels to generate electricity for homes and businesses on Earth.
