ICRF
ICRF stands for Ion Cyclotron Range of Frequencies. It is a type of radio frequency heating used in fusion devices to heat the plasma. ICRF heating involves launching a high power radio frequency wave into the plasma, which interacts with the ions in the plasma and transfers energy to them. This heating method is particularly useful for heating ions that have a high energy, such as those in a fusion plasma. ICRF heating can also be used to drive current in the plasma, which can be used to control the plasma shape and stability.
