Electrical Stimulation

Electrical stimulation is a technique used in space and astronautical engineering to activate or inhibit specific neural pathways in the body using electrical currents. This technique is used to counteract the negative effects of microgravity on the human body, such as muscle atrophy and bone loss. Electrical stimulation can be used to activate muscles and prevent muscle wasting, as well as to stimulate bone growth and prevent bone loss. It can also be used to improve cardiovascular function and prevent orthostatic intolerance. Electrical stimulation can be delivered through electrodes placed on the skin or implanted directly into the body. The parameters of the electrical current, such as frequency, amplitude, and pulse duration, can be adjusted to achieve the desired effect.
