Directional Antennas

Directional antennas are antennas that radiate or receive electromagnetic waves more effectively in some directions than in others. They are used in space and astronautical engineering to improve communication links between spacecraft and ground stations or between spacecraft themselves. Directional antennas can be designed to have high gain, which means that they can transmit or receive signals over long distances with high power and sensitivity. They can also be designed to have narrow beamwidth, which means that they can focus their energy in a specific direction and reduce interference from other sources. Directional antennas are commonly used in satellite communication systems, deep space missions, and interplanetary exploration. They can be deployed on spacecraft as parabolic reflector antennas, horn antennas, or phased array antennas.
