Data Packets

In space and astronautical engineering, data packets refer to units of data that are transmitted between spacecraft and ground stations or between spacecraft and other spacecraft. These packets are used to send information such as telemetry data, scientific data, and commands. Data packets are designed to be robust and reliable, as they must travel long distances through space and may be subject to interference or corruption. They are often transmitted using protocols such as the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) protocol, which is widely used in the space industry. Data packets may also be encrypted to ensure the security of sensitive information.
