Beamwidth
Beamwidth is the angular width of the beam radiated by an antenna or the angular width of the beam received by an antenna. It is usually defined as the angle between the half-power points of the main lobe. In other words, it is the angle between the points on the radiation pattern where the power is half of the maximum power. Beamwidth is an important parameter in antenna design as it determines the directionality and gain of the antenna. A narrow beamwidth indicates a highly directional antenna with high gain, while a wide beamwidth indicates a less directional antenna with lower gain. In space and astronautical engineering, beamwidth is used in the design and analysis of communication systems, radar systems, and remote sensing systems.
