Flash Memory

Flash memory is a type of non-volatile memory that can be electrically erased and reprogrammed. It is a technology used in solid-state drives (SSDs), USB flash drives, memory cards, and other electronic devices to store data. Flash memory is made up of memory cells that consist of floating-gate transistors. These transistors can be programmed to store a charge, which represents a binary 1 or 0. The data stored in flash memory is retained even when the power is turned off. Flash memory has several advantages over traditional hard disk drives, including faster access times, lower power consumption, and greater durability. However, it also has some limitations, such as a limited number of write cycles and a higher cost per unit of storage compared to hard disk drives.
