Thermal Infrared
Thermal Infrared is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum that is emitted by all objects with a temperature above absolute zero. In space and astronautical engineering, thermal infrared is used for remote sensing applications to detect and measure the temperature of objects and surfaces. This is achieved by measuring the amount of thermal radiation emitted by the object or surface. Thermal infrared is used in a variety of applications such as monitoring the temperature of spacecraft components, detecting and tracking wildfires, and studying the thermal properties of planets and moons in our solar system.
