Thermal Imaging
Thermal imaging is a technology that uses infrared radiation to detect and measure the temperature of objects and surfaces. In space and astronautical engineering, thermal imaging is used to monitor the temperature of spacecraft components, such as solar panels, radiators, and engines, to ensure they are operating within safe temperature ranges. Thermal imaging is also used to detect and locate heat leaks, insulation defects, and other thermal anomalies that could affect the performance and safety of spacecraft. Thermal imaging is an important tool for space exploration missions, as it allows scientists to study the thermal properties of planets, moons, asteroids, and comets, and to identify potential landing sites and hazards. Thermal imaging is also used in the design and testing of space suits and other equipment used by astronauts in space.
